Early Years Foundation playground case study
- Installation of wet pour soft surface
- Play equipment and roadway
Indicative Budget: £18,000
We were asked by this Primary School in Hemel Hempstead to redevelop their Pre School Playground. They weren’t looking for lots of equipment so this was predominantly a surfacing requirement.
We laid 190m2 of Black wet pour onto part grass, part tarmac. A small area of the original surface needed digging up and necessary ground works installed.
- Removing the existing surface and digging down to the desired level
- Laying a semi-permeable membrane to prevent weeds growing through
- Layer of MOT 1 stone
The wet pour was then poured on top and we retro filled it with a roadway, parking bays, target game and hopscotch. We also supplied and installed a slide on a mound to ensure the younger children could access the slide with ease.
Total cost of the surfacing and equipment was £18,310 including VAT. All debris was removed and the site and was left clean and tidy. 50% of payment was required prior to installation and balance upon completion.
